Some YMCA Programmes:
Project Bridge: Better Futures for Youth-at-Risk
YMCA Project Bridge reaches out to at-risk youth. It consists of the YMCA Vocational and Soft Skills Programme (VaSSP) and Y Explore. In both programmes, youth have access to support from social workers who provide essential emotional support and guidance.
YMCA FACES: A Hand-Up to Less Privileged Youth
The YMCA Financial Assistance & Capability for Employment Scheme (FACES) provides emergency financial aid to families in need. These families are often in a transitional period or have experienced a particularly difficult situation and need a hand-up to tide over tough times.
YMCA Special Needs Hospitality Training Programme
Employment is a significant part of independent living. Through the YMCA Special Needs Hospitality Training Programme, youth with special needs have access to job training in a real work setting. Upon completing the programme, YMCA of Singapore provides support to them in the search of long-term employment.
The YMCA Community Services Fund (CSF) sustains YMCA programmes that make this possible. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, your contributions online have become even more important in empowering these youth.
About the Charity
*COVID-19 Update: Due to COVID-19, many vulnerable communities face new challenges. Fundraising has also become exceptionally difficult. We would like to make an appeal to all to join us in our efforts in reaching out during these tough times. Your donation will fund new initiatives and existing programmes that support these communities. Please read "Our Programmes" for more information on these programmes.
The YMCA of Singapore stands to champion, challenge and train youth to become independent and effective contributors to an inclusive society.
Our "YMCA Strong" campaign is a statement of our desired outcome for all we serve - to give our clients a hand up, not simply a handout, so that each one will be strengthened to reach their potential.
Our programmes range from training and employing youth with special needs to mobilising and training youth leaders and volunteers to serve the needy in society.
