About Campaign
ends 14 May 2023, 11:59 PMThe earthquake is serving up a cocktail of catastrophes from wide-scale death, destruction and injuries, combined with the pre-existing levels of need in Northwest Syria following 12 years of conflict and harsh winter conditions amidst mass displacement.
Hospitals and health clinics that survived the earthquake in Syria were already overstretched and underfunded, now unable to keep the power on due to lack of fuel. A lot of infrastructure has been damaged. Many of the wells where people collected water have been polluted. There are also a lot of protection risks for children and we need to keep them safe.
World Vision is already on the ground, meeting the urgent needs of children and communities whom were already displaced.
You can donate to support our emergency response and help provide urgent lifesaving supplies to children and their families:
- Fuel to medical facilities and collective emergency shelters for heating purposes and electricity
- Food, including ready-to-eat food
- Key non-food items (e.g. tents, blankets, mattresses, tarpaulins, and heaters)
About the Charity
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice.
World Vision Singapore is a branch of World Vision International, and is a registered charity with Commissioner of Charities in Singapore.
In planning, implementing and evaluating its work, World Vision staff considers the basic needs of the child and the dynamics of the particular child's community. Does the child have a healthy diet? Is he or she attending school? Does the child have access to adequate health care, clean water, housing and clothing? Do his or her parents have an opportunity to improve the family's condition by growing more food or starting a small business?
All projects are regularly measured against such goals and objectives. Audits are conducted regularly by field staff and occasionally by outside consultants to ensure that the project is on track and is meeting the specific goals established by community leaders and World Vision.
Our help is offered without any reference to the religious faith of those with whom we work. People from Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and animist communities all receive help from World Vision.
World Vision accounts for every dollar. Audits are conducted regularly by external firms to verify the accuracy of World Vision's financial reporting.
