About Campaign
ends 31 Jan 2023, 11:59 PMWith the looming threat of famine in parts of East Africa, 6.5 million children are projected to suffer from acute malnutrition and could starve to death.
To protect their families, women and girls are also forced to make desperate choices, putting them at risk of prostitution, rape, and child marriage.
It is now a race against time to save lives.
World Vision targets to send life-saving aid to 7.1 million people, including 3.4 million children, across the most affected countries to mitigate the impact of the crisis.
Your gift to World Vision's East Africa Hunger Emergency Response will help save lives in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan - providing emergency food, clean water, access to life-saving medical care, and more to children and families fighting for their lives.
About the Charity
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice.
World Vision Singapore is a branch of World Vision International, and is a registered charity with Commissioner of Charities in Singapore.
In planning, implementing and evaluating its work, World Vision staff considers the basic needs of the child and the dynamics of the particular child's community. Does the child have a healthy diet? Is he or she attending school? Does the child have access to adequate health care, clean water, housing and clothing? Do his or her parents have an opportunity to improve the family's condition by growing more food or starting a small business?
All projects are regularly measured against such goals and objectives. Audits are conducted regularly by field staff and occasionally by outside consultants to ensure that the project is on track and is meeting the specific goals established by community leaders and World Vision.
Our help is offered without any reference to the religious faith of those with whom we work. People from Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and animist communities all receive help from World Vision.
World Vision accounts for every dollar. Audits are conducted regularly by external firms to verify the accuracy of World Vision's financial reporting.
