Support Our Women & Girls Agencies
During the circuit breaker period, there was a 22% increase in reports of domestic violence to the police. This illustrates how the issue persists in some Singaporean households, with some women's safety at risk during this period of social distancing. Moreover, according to an International Violence Against Women Survey in 2010, 1 in 10 women in Singapore experience lifetime physical violence by a male. Approximately 70% of women abused by partners do not make a police report.
Many women stay in violent relationships when they have children. And for those who leave their spouses, they need to support as a single-parent family. Support a range of issues that affect women, be it protecting family members against sexual assault or helping single mothers, through organisations such as Singapore Council of Women's Organization (SCWO), Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE), Daughters of Tomorrow, Pertapis and many more. Your donation can help advocate gender equality and ensure every woman has the opportunity to be empowered.
