About Campaign

ends 24 Nov 2017, 11:59 PM
Since 2014, W!LD RICE has been working with charities to make theatre more accessible for underprivileged children and young people. Over the years, our Gift of Theatre project has welcomed over 600 beneficiaries and their caretakers from 11 homes and charities to our annual holiday pantomime.

These charities include HELP Family Service Centre, Down Syndrome Association, Children Cancer Foundation, Arc Children's Centre, MCYC Community Services Society, Business Times Budding Artists and Association For Persons With Special Needs.

This year, we hope to continue to bring cheer to underprivileged children and youth, as well as extend our reach to the elderly through our holiday musical, Mama White Snake (24 November - 16 December 2017).

Any contribution that you can make will go a long way towards helping us in our ongoing efforts to engage with Singapore's underprivileged to give them a happy, heart-warming and unforgettable experience.

About the Charity

COVID-19 Update (May 2021): More than one year on, the COVID-19 pandemic is still causing substantial financial losses and uncertainty for us and the wider theatre community. Our venue's capacity has been reduced yet again - to 25% or even less - due to strict social distancing requirements, and we have had to postpone shows and re-assess our programming as a result. This threatens the financial security of our company, staff and the artists we work with, as well as the creative output that is critical to building a future for Singapore theatre.

WILD RICE is Singapore's leading professional theatre company. Our mission as an arts charity is to provide an open forum for the shared experience of theatre: celebrating our diversity; reflecting on the problems and possibilities of our times; and presenting productions that inspire, challenge and entertain.

Since our founding in 2000, we have entertained more than a million people in Singapore and around the world with our stories.

Located in the heart of our civic, cultural and financial district, WILD RICE @ Funan is exactly where a theatre should be. In this new home for Singapore theatre, we will tell stories about Singapore, and welcome people of all ages and from all walks of life. We will nurture and empower artists and audiences alike, and together, we will build a legacy of artistic excellence for generations to come.
