About Us

Playeum is a registered charity with an Institution of a Public Character (IPC) status established in 2013. We use play and the arts to develop confidence and life skills in children, especially children from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with special needs. We close the opportunity divides for children and transform mindsets of adults through play-based programmes, adult education, and research.

Over the last 5 years, we partner with schools, self-help groups, and social service agencies to impact more than 62,000 children and their adults.

Our Programmes

Playeum creates impact through play-based programmes, adult education, and research. We bring communities, civil society, governments, businesses and donors together to achieve sustainable impact with children and their communities. We believe this is the best way that we can effect real change in the way our society views children.

PLAY-BASED PROGRAMMES

We partner with schools, self-help groups, and social service agencies to deliver weekly play-based programmes aimed at helping children from under-resourced communities to develop a sense of belonging, resilience, and life skills alongside their caregivers.

ADULT EDUCATION

Through creative workshops, trainings, and our ECDA-endorsed Learning Through Play professional development course, we transform the mindset and practices of adults to embrace play as a way of being, learning and strengthening relationships with children.

RESEARCH

With the support of researchers, academic institutions and funders, we invest in ongoing efforts to develop research agendas to better understand children's engagement in authentic play experiences, its impact, and implications for future practices.

Our Wish List

Electronics

We are appealing for the donation of 10 laptops for use by children from low-income families and disadvantaged backgrounds in our community programmes. The devices will make access to creative and collaboration tools possible for these children to enhance their play-based learning.

Both brand-new and second-hand reconditioned laptops are deeply appreciated.

If you are keen to contribute to our request, please reach out to us at [email protected] We thank you for your generosity and support to help our children overcome barriers to education and digital inclusion.
