About the Activity

Working with children (Aged 5-18) who face parental incarceration, Prison Support Services - Kids In Play (PSS-KIP) by The Salvation Army conducts EMP Children/Teens Session which allows children to have a community of support and serves as a platform for character development.

Through interactive engagement, volunteers assist to impart positive character and values as well as provide opportunities for children to build on their support network, contributing to their learning and development.

At PSS-KIP, volunteers represents the community's involvement in the work we do. Your time and effort may seem menial to you, but it goes a long way as we strive to work towards a society where families of incarcerated parents are being embraced.

As EMPower volunteers, you assist the group facilitators to carry out session activities and befriend the children. You are the eyes and ears that allows for the session to be a safe space for the children.

Point to note

Do note that your participation is only confirmed via an email that will be sent to you. Priority is given to volunteers who are able to commit for more sessions.
