About the Activity

The Wellness Community project was started to expand Shan You's social services activities.

The goal of the Wellness Community is to improve elderly persons' quality of life through strengthening the five different aspects of wellness for individuals and their caregivers.

Our activities facilitate inter-generational bonding for seniors, youths, children and families as well as promote community spirit and inter-racial harmony.

Volunteer Positions

Wellness Community Volunteer

Skills required: Arts & Music, Counselling & Mentoring, Medical & Health, Other Skills, No Specific Skills Required Suitable for: Open to All, Organisation or Groups Min. age: 18
Volunteer supplement the effort of the operation staff at Shan You Wellness Community, we are looking for volunteers to help with

- Register senior citizens for activity and meal serving.
- Assist in front desk matters and attending to queries.
- Replenish and making refreshment for elderly.
Assist Wellness Community Staff and Wellness Activity Volunteer to facilitate activity with elderly.
- Any other duties assigned by Wellness Community Staff.

Food Rations Volunteer

Skills required: No Specific Skills Required Suitable for: First Timers, Open to All, Family Friendly, Organisation or Groups Min. age: 18
The Food Ration Programme provides basic necessities and food rationing to individuals or low income families, these items are packed differently based on their needs and we need volunteers to help us with:

- Unloading, Sorting & packing the items at Shan You Wellness Community
- Loading the packed items into the van and assist in door-to-door delivery distribution to our beneficiaries
- Any other duties assigned by Wellness Community Staff

At Shan You, we strive to provide enriching and rewarding experience for our beneficiaries and volunteers. We are looking for volunteers with the following quality traits,

-Patience and interests to interact with elderly,
- Always look out for elderly during activity and helping them during meal time.

Food ration volunteer;
- Energy and strength to move and pack the items .
- Dress comfortably as the activity will require a lot of physical movement. Do keep yourself hydrated as well.
