About the Activity

- Activity Organisers should ideally be able to commit weekly for at least 1 month
- Activity Facilitators should be able to commit weekly for at least 3 months

The main objectives of the Active Ageing programme is to:
- Reverse frailty among the elderly through exercise;
- Educate seniors on eating well by broadening their knowledge on nutrition and healthy food preparation;
- Encourage mind stimulation through creative activities

The beneficiaries are senior residents, who are 50 years and above and living in Kembangan-Chai Chee. They have been assessed by Filos to be suitable for the programmes.

Activity Organiser

Skills required: Other Skills Suitable for: First Timers, Seniors, Open to All, Family Friendly, Organisation or Groups Min. age: 18
To support and facilitate the smooth running of the Active Ageing Programmes through:

- Contributing your skills and planning the weekly programmes (e.g. art and craft, gardening) with Filos staff
- Managing logistics and helping in the operations (e.g. making reminder calls, taking attendance and creating attendance lists using Microsoft Office)
- Actively engaging the participants for greater participation
- Helping to upkeep cleanliness of the facilities and ensuring safety of participants

Activity Facilitator

Skills required: Other Skills Suitable for: First Timers, Seniors, Open to All, Family Friendly, Organisation or Groups Min. age: 18
To support and facilitate the smooth running of the Active Ageing Programmes* through:

- Leading weekly exercises
- Helping in the setting up of logistics
- Assisting in facilitation of sessions

*Mode of volunteering can be physical/virtual

Requirements:
- Able to converse in Mandarin, dialects, or Malay
- Can commit minimum 6 months
- Available for the following time slots (once a week on weekdays):
a) 9.30am - 10.30am or
b) 2.30pm - 4.30pm

Point to note

Other role requirements:
- Proficient in spoken English
- Ability to converse in Mandarin, Malay or dialect is an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Physically fit and able to facilitate exercise programmes

- Openness to share and receive feedback and concern
