About the Activity

SOS runs a 24-hour crisis intervention and suicide prevention hotline which is operated by trained volunteers from diverse backgrounds.

SOS receives more than 100 calls a day. The number of calls we receive is limited by the number of volunteers available to answer those calls.

As SOS is one of the few hotlines that operate 24-hours, this may be more significant in the wee hours of the morning. We hence need more volunteers to lend a listening ear to distressed callers, especially at night.
