About the Activity

Special Olympics is an international organization that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities.

Special Olympics Unified Sports helps to promote social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences for individuals with and without intellectual disabilities.

It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.

Volunteer Positions

Unified Partner

Skills required: No Specific Skills Required Suitable for: Open to All Min. age: 21
Unified Partners play a valuable role in enriching the lives of Special Olympics' athletes with intellectual disabilities by providing encouragement, understanding and support to help these athletes realize their potential.

Unified Partners are required to train together with the athletes once a week and compete as a unified team at mainstream events.

Point to note

Training is held at Victoria School (Thursday) from 7.30pm to 9.30pm and Delta Sports Hall (Saturday) from 9am to 11am.
