About the Activity

This project aims at demonstrating circular economy through the use of black soldier fly larvae to upcycle food waste from nearby residents and schools. The larvae, are in turn used as feed for tilapia fish culture in the nearby pond, while the frass (excreta from BSF) are used as fertilizer for growing vegetables.
Participants are awarded with "Green currency" for their effort in return for their participation, which can be used for off-setting the cost of purchase for food and programs.
