About Campaign

ends 31 Dec 2022, 11:59 PM
In 2020, Singapore saw an increase of domestic violence and abuse cases; specifically in the area of technologically-facilitated violence. The White Paper on Women's Development, launched in 2022, revealed that efforts must begin upstream. These should inculcate fundamental values of safety and respect from a young age; educating, protecting and empowering youths to intervene and prevent harmful acts of violence from ever occurring.

In commemoration with the global 16 Days of Activism, UWS' #NormalisingRespectSG campaign aims to rally the Singaporean community towards violence prevention through public education and events. By promoting values of respect and healthy relationships, we seek to build a culture of safety for all.

Donations to the campaign will go towards helping boys attend our UWS Boys Empowered group workshop - which equips them with skills to interrupt and prevent violence; and, UWS GenSafe Ally-tude workshop - that cultivates a culture of support within the workplace.

About the Charity

United Women Singapore is a self-funded non-profit organization that advances women's empowerment and gender equality, and builds a pipeline of women leaders and influencers in Singapore. We work towards narrowing the gender equality gap through education and raising awareness and advocacy on issues such as anti-violence and women's empowerment. We raise funds to support projects and organizations, and actively put issues affecting women on the agenda of leaders and organisations that can make a difference.

United Women Singapore has an Institution of Public Character (IPC) status and all donors are able to claim tax relief from their assessable income based on the amount donated, at the prevailing deduction rate.
