One plus One is more than Two

The COVID-19 outbreak started off as a public health issue and has evolved into a global crisis, which caused disruption to the world order. Preventive measures though essential, have taken their toll on the economy. Many countries are slipping into recession, with social unrest surfacing as more people become unemployed. Vulnerability profiles increase with more assistance schemes required, ranging from daily necessities to mental support. We urge more people to come together to help the vulnerable groups tide through this trying period.

Since mid-February, Tzu Chi Foundation (Singapore) launched a series of epidemic relief initiatives to care for people like our long-term care recipients, migrant workers returning from China, frontline workers, stranded Malaysian migrant workers and students who require digital devices for their Home-Based Learning. To-date, more than 1000 people and households have benefitted from our initiatives. For more details, please visit our website at https://www.tzuchi.org.sg/en/featured/updates-on-covid-19/.

We want to do more by addressing the changing needs of the vulnerable community and society. Commencing 22 April till 30 June 2020, Every Dollar donated will be matched by our philanthropic entrepreneurs. With the power of One plus One, let us contribute to the greater good of mankind. Unutilised funds as at 31 Dec 2020 will be used to support other charitable causes of the Charity Development Fund.

About the Charity

Established in 1993, Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation (Singapore) is an accredited Institution of Public Character (IPC). For the past over two decades, the Foundation has been actively contributing to society in the areas of charity, medical aid, education, humanistic culture, and environmental protection.

We bridge and connect volunteers with those who need help; and in the process, we work out ways to help those who fall through society's safety net. Our work is manpower-intensive, but fortunately, we have an army of dedicated volunteers who generously devote their valuable time to help and care for the needy and underprivileged.
