About Campaign

In the starfish story, a wise man questioned a young man's effort of picking up starfish along the shore and throwing them back into the ocean. The wise man wondered difference would it make, since there are so many starfish along the shore. But the young man's action makes a difference to the starfish that has been thrown back into the waters.

This starfish painting was done by our volunteer, Mr L, who was like the starfish. At the lowest point in his life, the help he had received gave him hope and the courage to move on. Mr L drew the starfish painting as a reminder that even a small act of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life.

Your donation makes a difference, especially during this festive season, and we seek your support for our iwanttogohome (IWGH) Fund, which helps needy patients after their discharge from hospital, for continued care at home.

funds raised through this campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar under the Tote Board's Enhanced Fundraising (EFR) programme, capped at $250,000 per charity.

About the Charity

In keeping with Mr Tan Tock Seng's Legacy of Giving, Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) set up its charity arm, TTSH Community Fund, in August 1995 to improve the quality of life of our patients and the community.

Every year, our Charity disburses more than $2 million for our patient-centred programmes, and to support healthcare research, innovation and training for our staff and the community, to deliver better patient care.

From expensive non-standard medication and breathing equipment to mobility aids, community rehabilitation programmes, and even dentures to help them eat better, TTSH Community Fund helps needy patients with their out-of-pocket medical expenses so that they can gain greater independence, improve their quality of life and enable them to integrate back into the community.

Our Charity runs entirely on public donations. Every dollar to the Charity goes directly to support our activities. TTSH Community Fund is a registered charity with IPC status.

Fundraising can help to raise more and change more lives.
