About Us

Established in 1995, Trybe is a social service agency that serves youth facing adversities. A member of the National Council of Social Services (NCSS), Trybe is a charity that has been granted the Institution of Public Character (IPC) status.

Our vision is 'Every Youth a Success Story'. We believe that all youth are able to reach the fullest of their potentials to live successful lives. Thus, we are united by our mission - to journey with youth who face adversities to lead purposeful lives, inspiring them to impact others.

Through our Community & Youth Services (CYS) Division, and management of the Singapore Boys' Hostel (SBHL) and the Community Rehabilitation Centre (CRC), Trybe provides youth with guidance and offer support for their families and communities by engaging them in our services spanning across developmental, prevention, intervention and rehabilitation work.

Our Programmes

Trybe has reached out to 150,000 youths through youth development programmes and preventive and intervention programmes for youths-at-risk, ex-offenders, and their families. Since 2011, Trybe has been appointed by the Ministry of Social and Family Development to manage the SBHL. SBHL is a gazetted institution that serves youth in the age range of 12 to 21. In 2014, Trybe was further entrusted by the government and was appointed by the Ministry of Home Affairs to manage the CRC. The CRC is a community-based drug rehabilitation centre that serves male first-time drug abusers between the ages of 16 to 21. At SBHL and CRC, we run rehabilitation programmes to help the youth lead crime-free and drug-free lives, build positive relationships with their schools and families, and ultimately contribute positively to society.

In 2015, Growing Resilient Youth in Transition (GRYT), a project under the Rehabilitation & Integration Services of CYS, was launched. Through GRYT, we support youth ex-offenders who have left the institutions to integrate back into society. Trybe is also one of the 10 state-appointed service providers for the Youth-At-Risk-Engagement (YARE) pilot programme that was launched in 2016. To date, Trybe continues to run the YARE programme as the Chrysalis project under the Outreach & Intervention Services of CYS.
