About Campaign

Yana and her family often have to live with the bare minimum in a society of excess. Treats such as fries or eating out are indulgences reserved for special events, given that the kids are given only $2 in pocket money daily. Her caregiver, 34-year-old Noriah, juggles a part-time job at an F&B outlet, her family commitments being a single mother to a large family of six, and a less than desirable financial situation.

A shy child, 5-year old Yana spends most of her time clinging on to Noriah at home, or to elder sisters, 15-year old Irrah and 13-year old Lissah, at the TOUCH Young Arrows (TYA) Yishun Club, a children centre that supports kids from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Every Saturday, Yana turns up at TYA Yishun for coaching in Mathematics and English. Being surrounded by children her age helps bring her out of her shell, and develop a stronger sense of self-esteem. She also joins other children in values-driven activities, which build her character in fun and experiential ways. To Yana and many children from underprivileged families, TYA is a refuge, a second home.

Help us to continue providing for children like Yana! Thank you for giving today, so that disadvantaged children can have a better tomorrow.

P.S.: We also have a special fundraising run, Run & Raisin', happening on 1 Sep. Join us and run for a child at www.thegivingfamily.sg/run-and-raisin!
