About Campaign

Did you know that there are an estimated 500,000 individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing in Singapore?

A survey conducted in 2017 indicated that 1 in 2 employers do not intend to hire deaf people. While attitudes are gradually changing, many in the hearing community do not understand the Deaf
community and may unknowingly be biased against them.

This is why the People with Disabilities (PwD) team in Accenture started DeafTember, a month of raising awareness, inclusion and acceptance for the Deaf Community. Activities such as sign language classes and silent trivial nights are held within the firm to educate and enlighten.

Internally within the firm, we are raising $10,000 through our silent trivial night to donate to SADeaf and we are hoping to raise another $10,000 to double the impact created.

This campaign is an Accenture effort to raise funds for SADeaf to continue its incredible efforts for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing by delivering sign language classes, ensuring access of interpreters and notetakers and providing health services to the community among others.

Here at Accenture, we care about diversity and inclusion. And It's time to let our hands do the talking.
