About Campaign

Jasmine was an unwanted pregnancy. From the time she was born till the age of six, she was moved from guardian to guardian and labelled as a curse to the family because her parents' relationship fell apart when she was conceived. When Jasmine finally returned home, she was abused physically and verbally by her mother and lived in constant fear. What started out as beatings, gradually led to splashing of hot water and forcing her sibling's urine down her throat. In order to escape from the abuse, Jasmine ran away from home and got into trouble with the police.

Jasmine was subsequently referred to The Salvation Army Gracehaven. Being depressed, she attempted suicide at the age of 15. After the attempt, her life changed as she allowed the staff to care for her and help her handle the penned up emotions. The acceptance and love that Jasmine received helped her forge meaningful and lasting relationships and enabled her to recognise that receiving help from others is not a sign of vulnerability. Today, Jasmine's life has changed tremendously and she is now living a fulfilling life, reaching out to the less privileged.

It is because of your generosity that many others like Jasmine, can have a brighter future. Please support The Salvation Army and give hope to those in need.
