HFW have arranged a 'global day of action' in support of their preferred charity The Mission to Seafarers who provide help and support to 1.5 million crewmen and women who face danger every day to keep our global economy afloat. HFW's Singapore office have arranged a sponsored rowing event which will take place on 21 November 2019. Split between two teams, this will be cruelling relay event, with the winning team rowing the greatest distance in the allocated time.

HFW/Mission to Seafarers partnership

HFW's shipping group has chosen The Mission to Seafarers as its first ever global charity partner. Over three years, HFW's Shipping group will offer legal, practical and financial support to The Mission to Seafarers to support its essential welfare work with seafarers around the globe.

The partnership involves direct practical and legal support as well as an annual financial donation to the charity. HFW has pledged to offer pro bono legal counsel to support the effective governance of the charity and compliance with local regulations in the regions in which it works.

HFW's partnership with the Mission will help them to continue their ongoing support of thousands of seafarers around the world every day. This ranges from helping seafarers keep in contact with their friends and families back home up to care and support in crisis situations

About the Charity

Founded in 1856, The Mission to Seafarers is the world's largest international Christian Maritime welfare charity with teams in 200 ports across 8 regions, in over 50 countries.

With our Patron, Her Majesty, The Queen, and our President Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, The Mission to Seafarers offer help and support to merchant seafarers.

Through its 115 centres and volunteers, The Mission to Seafarers provides communications, stores, transport services, free advice and publications for seafarers as well as help in maritime emergencies.

Objectives of the Society shall be to provide a Christian ministry of spiritual and pastoral care and in so doing provide for an promote the spiritual, moral and social welfare of seafarers of all creeds and nationalities. In pursuance of this object, the Society will use every means consistent with the principles and received practice of the Anglican Communion.
