About Campaign

In 2020, during the Circuit Breaker in Singapore, we started the collation of Puppet Origin Stories - a repository of stories about the making and designing of the puppets in The Finger Players.

Each Puppet Origin Story (POS) is heartwarming, demonstrates the legacy that we would like to leave behind, and is key to knowledge sharing with our international puppetry counterparts. We hope you can be part of this with us.

Please click through this link

to access the Puppet Origin Stories page, and make a donation to champion a story you feel most affinity for. Your donation will help us expand and extend the life of the Puppet, and enrich its storytelling journey.

We have listed donation tiers below as a recommendation, but we deeply appreciate all amounts. We thank you in advance.

About the Charity

The Finger Players is one of Singapore's leading theatre companies, best known for inventively fusing puppetry elements into its visually-arresting productions, and its strong advocacy of puppetry.

Founded in 1999, The Finger Players strives to be a centre of research and development for the creation and performance of puppetry in Singapore.

In 2019, The Finger Players became the first arts collective in Singapore to operate on a rotating artistic director model, with each Artistic Director helming the fort for a stipulated tenure.

The Finger Players is a non-profit organisation with Institution of Public Character (IPC) status, a recipient of the National Arts Council's Major Grant for the period from 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2020, and from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2023.
