About Campaign

ends 30 Jun 2017, 11:59 PM
The M1 CONTACT Contemporary Dance Festival 2017 raises an awareness and appreciation of the multifaceted nature of contemporary dance through education, exchange and creation. With 13 shows, 27 dance works, 30 technique classes, 3 workshops and 33 invited dance artists this year, we hope that you, our loyal supporters, will join us as we strive to play a part in building up Singapore's scene for contemporary dance artists and dance-makers.

Why are we embarking on this campaign?

With the volatile economic climate which makes it difficult for us to rely entirely on sponsorships, grants and donations, we hope to seek support from arts-lovers and believers like you. As much as we love to bring you affordable and enjoyable shows, classes and workshops, we also hope to be able to provide better conditions for our local and overseas guest artists, without incurring too much of a deficit as a non-profit organisation. Although it is just a small fraction of our total Festival expenditure, we are aiming to raise SGD5,000 through this campaign, which will be used to offset some of the fees and provisions for our artists.

Would you like to play a part in creating thought-provoking moments and a medley of experiences for our society today?

About the Charity

Founded in 2008 by Kuik Swee Boon, The Human Expression Dance Company (T.H.E) has progressed quickly to become one of the most seminal Singaporean as well as South East Asian contemporary dance companies in recent years. Our works attempt to expose different dimensions of the human condition; to highlight the minute, intricate but nevertheless important details that often go unnoticed in a contemporary age that moves with blinding speed.

T.H.E has performed at most major local arts and dance festivals including Singapore Arts Festival and Esplanade da:ns Festival. In addition, our highly successful world tours have brought us to neighbouring countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as international destinations (France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Poland, Korea, China & the UAE.)

As we are a charity with IPC status, you will be entitled to 250% tax deduction on any amount that you have donated to us.
