About Campaign

ends 31 Aug 2020, 11:59 PM
Support the work of Teater Ekamatra and make your dollar go four times further. From now till 31 August, every $1 donated is "upsized" to $4 for the theatre company. This unique community challenge calls upon art lovers and diversity champions to contribute towards creating more platforms for ethnic minority voices.

We hope to reach our initial funding goal of $10,000, which will translate into $40,000 for the company. Reaching this milestone will "unlock" a free Zoom mini festival of performances by surprise artists and collaborators of Teater Ekamatra over the years, as a gesture of thanks to our donors.

AMBOI! is a colloquial Malay word that expresses wonderment. A word with multiple meanings, it is an apt rallying cry to galvanise the community with the same spirit of playfulness, thrilling delight and creative expression that is associated with the work of Teater Ekamatra.

The multiplier effect is made possible by a private donor who has generously committed to a dollar-for-dollar matching for all donations up to $10,000. The total amount will then be doubled through the Cultural Matching Fund (CMF). During this period of crisis and isolation, such amplification efforts demonstrate the power of coming together and believing in one another.

The funds will go towards supporting Teater Ekamatra's programmes including upcoming digital projects, such as a reimagining of recently cancelled production Berak; and Mat Champion, a children's online series!
