About Campaign

We are a team of eight residents from St. John's Home For Elderly Persons located at 69 Wan Tho Ave. We took up the challenge of helping the Home raise $100,000 to build our new Home.

Even though with age ranging from 70 to 90 and not very savvy in digital media, we are eager to learn.

We shot this video entirely on our own using mobile phone! In the process we had a lot of fund and learnt to work as a team. Please take 3 minutes to check out the video and support our effort to raise funds for our new Home by donating generously.

Do share this video that we have created with your family and friends. Make it viral and help us achieve our target of raising $100,000 for our Home.

Our Home needs to raise about a total of another $5 Million for our new building project!

(The land lease of the current area St. John's Home occupies ended in 2015 and was returned to the state. This dictates that we occupy a much smaller piece of land (3,300sqm, down from 12,300sqm). Thanks to the support of many well wishers, we are on our way to building a new Home to care for existing and new residents. The building work will commence Sep 2018 and is slated to be ready end 2020. We have stepped up our fundraising efforts in recent years but with limited resources, it is a huge challenge to raise the remaining about $5 million).

About the Charity

St. John's Home for Elderly Persons is a Charity that provides long-term residential care for needy and/or homeless elderly persons regardless of race or creed. Due to urban planning and the need to maximise land use, the Home is raising funds to construct a five-storey building, on one third of our existing land area. The estimated construction cost of the new building is $15 million. We invite you to join us in this exciting new journey of building a new Home for the Elderly, so that our elderly residents will not be displaced when our land tenancy expires. The Home is a recipient of the President's Award for Philanthropy 2014 (Non-profit). Website Link : www.stjohneldershome.org.sg
