As part of the National Day revelry, let us lift the spirits of Singaporeans through the unifying language of the world - music.
The SSO National Day Concert pays homage to the music of home with a slate of enthralling performances featuring born and bred musicians of our time. We invite you to have a hand in this heartwarming tribute that celebrates our nation's 57th birthday.
Please help us raise $40,000 for these much-anticipated songs to take the stage at the SSO National Day Concert. From enduring favourites to world premieres, these musical numbers are set to deepen our love for Singapore.
Your generosity will help the commissioning of Singaporean composer Benjamin Lim's reimagined medley of National Day classics like "It's The Little Things". Amplifying Lim's orchestral masterpiece are the voices of Singapore Symphony Choruses, a first after a two-year hiatus. We hope this showcase reminds Singaporeans to unite and move forward as one glorious nation.
As a massive thank-you, we will dedicate the music in your honour, with the acknowledgement "made possible by the People of Singapore" in the SSO National Day Concert programme booklet.
Please join us in supporting this musical endeavour celebrating Singapore, its song, and its people!
You will enjoy special benefits for donations of $1,000 and above. Please visit www.sso.org.sg/support-us/patron-benefits
About the Charity
"The arts and culture are in integral part of Singapore which the country must continue to nurture because man does not live on bread alone." - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Long.
We do wish for the finer things in life, to appreciate beauty and love, and something uplifting for the spirit. Our nation would not be complete without an appreciation of arts and culture, and without Singaporeans who create artistic and cultural works.
An arts charity, the Singapore Symphony Group (SSG) manages the country's flagship orchestra, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra comprises 90 full-time musicians that play a versatile repertoire of familiar favourites and exciting new works across over 60 concerts a year. The SSG also manages the Singapore Symphony Choruses, the Singapore National Youth Orchestra, the VCH presents chamber music series, the Singapore International Piano Festival and the biennial National Piano & Violin Competition.
While the SSG is supported partially by funding from the Singapore government, a significant part can only be unlocked as matching grants when we receive donations from the public.
If you have been moved by the powerful, enlivening sound of your national orchestra, please support us by making a donation.
For every dollar given, we receive another from the Cultural Matching Fund, making your donation twice as impactful.
