About Campaign

In the last two years, SPD's beneficiaries and their families faced constant upheavals and uncertainty. But many such as Awlia's family are grateful for the help coming from donors like you who make available the exceptional care by SPD.

SPD offers services to help people with disabilities of all ages to be as independent and self-reliant as possible. Besides early intervention and educational support for children and youth with special needs, it offers day care, therapy and assistive technology to boost the mobility of persons with disabilities within the community, and vocational training and employment support to help adults with disabilities to find jobs.
SPD relies on the support of the community to be able to continue helping its beneficiaries, 80% of whom are from low-income families. Thanks to organisations that have stepped forward to give, children with special needs can have a good start in life, and adults with disabilities can have a better quality of life.

With your support, we are looking to help even more children like Awlia. The SPD Charity Golf will be held on Friday, 18 November 2022 at the Orchid Country Club, Vanda and Dendro Course. We appeal to you/your organisation to join us at the event where we will be raising funds to provide therapy, early intervention and educational support for infants and young children with moderate to severe developmental needs.

About the Charity

SPD is a local charity set up in 1964 to help people with disabilities maximise their potential and be a part of mainstream society.

We are here to help children and youths with special needs reach for the stars and be the best that they can be through early intervention and educational support.

We strive to boost the self-reliance and mobility of persons with disabilities within the community, and we do so through therapy services, assistive technology and the support and encouragement of our care team.

Our day care programmes provide respite to families, making it possible for persons with disabilities to stay with their loved ones at home for as long as possible without having to resort to institutional care.

A strong advocate for inclusive employment, we train people with disabilities and work with them to seek suitable employment opportunities so that they can be financially independent and lead a full and engaged life.

After more than 50 years, we remain focused and committed to enabling people with disabilities.
