SPD Breaking Barriers Virtual Run 2017
About Campaignends 10 Dec 2017, 11:59 PM
In conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 Dec 2017, SPD will be organising the inaugural SPD Breaking Barriers Virtual Run to allow general public to show their support for persons with disabilities (PWDs), run for a good cause and raise fund for PWDs. It also serves as an opportunity for both persons without disabilities and PWDs to step out of their comfort zone, break out of their own mental barriers and challenge themselves to complete a 10km run.
The SPD Breaking Barriers Virtual Run will be held from 24 Nov 2017 to 10 Dec 2017. Participants can complete the 10km run at any location, be it on the treadmill or in a park. They can also run at any time and at any pace they prefer. Upon completion, submission & approval of proof of run, participants will be rewarded with a medal & token of appreciation*.
SPD aims to raise $50,000 from this charity event to support and help over 9,400 people with disabilities (of which 5,500 are unique individuals) served through existing programmes and services such as therapy, early intervention, assistive technology, and education and employment support.
Join us as we take one step closer towards breaking barriers and unlocking potential of PWDs. Your support will make a positive impact in their lives. To register for the run, head over to www.virtualrun.spd.org.sg. Alternatively, you can also offer your support by making an online donation right here, right now.
