About Campaign

ends 30 Sep 2022, 11:59 PM
Many times, all it takes is a little support to enable a person with disabilities to stand tall and be able to contribute in our community.

Therapy, employment support and other such services enable persons with disabilities (PwDs) to be as independent and self-reliant as possible, and remain the ticket to a better life, more opportunities and a brighter future, which is why SPD strives to continue providing our programmes and services that help to maximise the potential of PwDs.

With the economic uncertainties ahead and impending inflation, PwDs and their families would have to deal with even more daunting challenges. We are aiming to raise funds to continue helping more PwDs through our programmes and services, which could in turn ease the financial burdens of their families.

Little drops of water do make a mighty ocean. Your donation, along with those of others, would help to transform the lives of persons with disabilities. To give you an idea how far your contribution goes, every $20 you give will provide meals for a week for one person with disabilities receiving day care.

We are grateful for any donation you make and hope you can help to share this appeal with your family and friends. If you have not sign up for the SPD Ability Walk & Run 2022, you can register at https://web.42race.com/race-bundle/spd2022. Walk, run, and give generously to support PwDs in our community.

Thank you

About the Charity

SPD is a local charity set up in 1964 to help people with disabilities maximise their potential and be a part of mainstream society.

We are here to help children and youths with special needs reach for the stars and be the best that they can be through early intervention and educational support.

We strive to boost the self-reliance and mobility of persons with disabilities within the community, and we do so through therapy services, assistive technology and the support and encouragement of our care team.

Our day care programmes provide respite to families, making it possible for persons with disabilities to stay with their loved ones at home for as long as possible without having to resort to institutional care.

A strong advocate for inclusive employment, we train people with disabilities and work with them to seek suitable employment opportunities so that they can be financially independent and lead a full and engaged life.

After more than 50 years, we remain focused and committed to enabling people with disabilities.
