About Campaign

ends 12 Jul 2020, 11:59 PM
Presented by mm2 Entertainment and UnUsUal Entertainment, the LIVE IT UP Charity Concert will be broadcasted live on Sunday 28 June 2020 at 9 pm (Singapore time) over Official Media AsiaOne's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/asiaonecom/). Concert hosts Irene Ang and Jaspers Lai will be joined by local celebrities including Dick Lee, Jack Neo, Li Nanxing, Marcus Chin, ShiGGa Shay, Tosh Zhang and Ryan Lian. The guest artists will each perform a musical number, as well as engage with their fans over the Facebook live feed.

The concert aims to highlight the struggles of families who receive help and support from local charities SPD and Community Chest. Charitable donations have fallen in the wake of the pandemic, even though needs of vulnerable groups have increased. The charitable donations raised during the concert will go towards SPD and Community Chest, who are providing support for peoples with disabilities, low-income families, the elderly and individuals whose circumstances are a constant struggle. These groups are amongst the most affected by the impact of the COVID-19 and need even more support in this current climate.

About the Charity

SPD is a local charity set up in 1964 to help people with disabilities maximise their potential and be a part of mainstream society.

We are here to help children and youths with special needs reach for the stars and be the best that they can be through early intervention and educational support.

We strive to boost the self-reliance and mobility of persons with disabilities within the community, and we do so through therapy services, assistive technology and the support and encouragement of our care team.

Our day care programmes provide respite to families, making it possible for persons with disabilities to stay with their loved ones at home for as long as possible without having to resort to institutional care.

A strong advocate for inclusive employment, we train people with disabilities and work with them to seek suitable employment opportunities so that they can be financially independent and lead a full and engaged life.

After more than 50 years, we remain focused and committed to enabling people with disabilities.
