About Campaignends 28 Feb 2019, 11:59 PM
SPD runs over 20 programmes and services to help people with disabilities achieve greater independence and self-reliance. For 54 years, the support that we have received from the Government, corporate and individual donors and the community, has enabled us to give children and youth with special needs access to education, train adults with disabilities and enable them to contribute as much to the community as their potential allows, help the elderly to be as independent as possible and to be able to age in place, and provide respite for family members and caregivers. For these, we are grateful.
From statistics available, we know that there are more than 100,000 people with some degree of disabilities in Singapore today. Over and above this, 4,000 children are diagnosed with special needs every year and this number is likely to go up. The needs are growing along with the demand for disability support. In the face of this, SPD endeavors to continue giving support to people with disabilities and their families.
We can do it only with your help. Please make a donation today so that more people with disabilities can receive the much-needed support.
