About Campaign

ends 31 Dec 2021, 11:59 PM
2021 has been an especially trying year for our elderly residents as we move into the second year with heightened COVID-19 restrictions at our nursing home. With COVID restrictions and a complete halt to outings as well as visitations from loved ones and volunteers, morale can get quite low.

Despite this, we are ever grateful to our community who has been rallying to support our cause.

To liven up our elderly residents' days, we are raising funds for hawker fare. This may seem mundane, but our local flavours do bring a burst of nostalgia and excitement to our residents, as they have grown up with these foods. A little change-up in their routine spices up their day and they really look forward to it!

Aside from managing morale in this pandemic, we also face rising PPE costs (Personal Protective Equipment e.g. N95 mask, isolation gowns etc.). With higher usage of PPE to prevent cross-infection, our cost for PPE has gone up by 65%. Staff in direct contact with residents have switched to using N95 masks. At 10 times the price of surgical masks, N95 masks are a hefty cost. However, to ensure the protection of our elderly residents, PPE remains a core line of defence that we cannot do without.

In this season of giving, we hope to have your support by donating to SAS. Your donations will go towards providing quality care for our residents who are in need. Every bit of your help can go a long way to bring cheer!

About the Charity

Society for the Aged Sick (SAS) is a non-profit nursing home that provides long-term residential and respite care services for the elderly, especially the less-privileged.

With a team of committed healthcare professionals and caregivers, we believe in adding years of quality life to our residents through holistic caregiving.

Established in 1968 as a 16-bedded facility, we now have 404 beds in our current location.

We hope to create a home within a home environment where our residents can enjoy professional and individualized care. Every resident is treated with respect, and we affirm that our residents' dignity is at the core of our work.
