About Campaign

The unexpected COVID-19 has deeply affected all performing arts groups across the globe. In 2021, the SWS had plans to reestablish and rebrand as Singapore's "community band", which was derailed by the pandemic.

Primarily a wind ensemble, many restrictions were imposed. Group rehearsals and concerts were put on hold throughout the year. Without income from corporate sponsors and concert ticket sales, the SWS has been sustained by dedicated volunteers and silent donors.

The SWS is the oldest wind ensemble in Singapore and we are internationally known for promoting local compositions and actively giving back to our community through various outreach programs.

We humbly appeal for your donations to allow our dedicated volunteers and musicians to continue their good work in promoting Singapore's musical identity through our programs.

This year, all fundraising proceeds will benefit the SWS to address our immediate funding needs. This includes all SWS affiliations, such as the Singapore Wind Symphony (Main Band), SWS Percussion Ensemble, and the SWS City Swing.

About the Charity

The Singapore Wind Symphony (SWS) was founded in 1977 under the auspices of the National Theatre Trust, and was formerly known as the National Theatre Symphonic Band (NTSB). In 1992, it was renamed the Singapore Wind Symphony - and embarked on a new era of excellence in music-making, winning local and international accolades, establishing itself as one of the pinnacle ensembles of its kind in Singapore.
