About Campaignends 26 Feb 2019, 11:59 PM
Research has shown that children from lower-income families typically lag behind in the areas of reading and literacy, among other academic domains. By providing a child with more opportunities and exposure, the child's developmental growth can be enhanced and also empowered to go beyond what he/she thinks he/she can achieve.
SRT Student Education Fund (SRT SEF) provides the opportunity for children from lower-income families to attend theatre performances. The experience will provide them with a chance to engage in a social-transformative experience, get entertained, raise their aspirations and cultivate hope.
Additional benefits for children from lower-income families:
- Promotes health and wellbeing
- Exposes to a culturally enriching world
- Improves self-confidence (that they are not lagging behind their peers)
Since its inception in 2012, SRT SEF has impacted more than 12,000 children with the magic of theatre. There are a lot more children who have yet to watch a live theatre. You can help a young mind to experience theatre for the first time.
Donations of $100 and above are eligible for 250% tax benefits.
