Sharifah has been supporting her family since she was 12. Despite her poor health, she halted her studies and started working to ensure her family could afford their basic necessities.

After getting married, Sharifah had twins, who were both later diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay and Autism.

Sharifah's mother, caretaker of Sharifah's aunt, who has special needs, also cared for the twins. The caregiving soon took its toll on Sharifah's mum and Sharifah had to look after her children herself. Thus, her husband became the sole breadwinner.

Unfortunately, his pay was not sufficient to support the family's expenditure, including their children's medical fees.

With help from the SRC Meals with Love programme, Sharifah receives $250 dollars worth of supermarket vouchers monthly, which enables her to put nutritious food on the table for the family.

'I would like to express my gratitude to the Singapore Red Cross. The vouchers have helped my family greatly. In the past, we could only afford to have soup every meal as it was the cheapest thing to buy in the market. Now, my children can consume more nutritious food such as chicken and milk,' shared Sharifah.

$250 dollars can provide a family of four with food for 1 month.
