About Campaign
ends 16 Mar 2021, 11:59 PMTo supplement the family's income, Bee Har quit school when she was 14 and worked as a seamstress.
Fast forward to 2013, a doctor diagnosed Bee Har with Parkinson's disease when she was 68 years old. As she sustained several falls because of her difficulties in walking, she had no choice but to quit her seamstress job
For Bee Har, now 76, who is wheelchair-bound, going to the hospital for her medical appointments is a hassle that she would rather be without.
Fortunately, Singapore Red Cross staff turned up at her doorstep one day and shared with her about SRC's Medical Chaperone and Transportation service. They also assessed her suitability to be enrolled in the MCT service.
Her appointed Medical Chaperone, Mr Tan, would fetch Bee Har from her house, accompany her throughout the medical consultation at the hospital.
Many Seniors are not familiar with Cab Hailing Apps and many end up waiting at the hospitals for hours for transport, adding to their worries. Give peace of mind to individuals like Mdm Chua to get to their appointments with ease by making a donation today.
