About Campaign

The Lunar New Year is an important occasion for Chinese all around the world, and a time for reunions, where people would return home to huddle up with their loved ones. As we enjoy our sumptuous dinners and don stunning new clothes, let us try to take a step back and think about how we can give to those in need. Afterall, the Lunar New Year symbolises good luck and joy - great things that we should share!

After his father passed away in 2011, Goh Quan Yao has been staying at the Red Cross Home for the Disabled (RCHD). Growing up, he struggled with quadriparesis and paralysis, alongside down syndrome. However, his medical conditions did not stop the cheerful young man from developing a passion for art, watching wrestling clips and interacting with volunteers.

Today, he is able to push himself in his wheelchair and eat on his own. Whilst still dependent on caregivers for activities of daily living, he is capable of communicating with one-word verbal gestures, using augmentative and alternative communication devices to express himself further.

Your gift this hoppity new year will enable us to continue bringing smiles to those under our care, whilst empowering them to lead dignified lives - just like how your gift has supported Quan Yao in his growth.

Double the blessings, as your donations will be matched dollar-to-dollar by ToteBoard.

Note: Donations raised will be under Illuminate Our City with Love for Humanity (https://s.giving.sg/ZeDu9D1)
