About Campaign
ends 05 Oct 2022, 11:59 PMAs someone who loved dancing, she struggled to cope with the loss of her mobility.
Fortunately, a turning point came when her hospital's social worker referred her to the Singapore Red Cross (SRC). Ever since she was enrolled under ElderAid in August 2018, our volunteers have visited her weekly to check in on her well-being and provide a listening ear. Through their efforts, the volunteers brought the precious gift of friendship and joy back into Mdm Lim's and her husband, Mr Lai's lives.
Our volunteers also assisted them with their needs amidst the pandemic, such as arranging their vaccination appointments. Especially in times like these, the multiplier effect of social isolation can be acutely felt as our elders have to stay home as much as possible and are not able to carry out their usual routines, on top of other health conditions that may come along with age. All of which can take a toll on their mental health.
Your generous contribution will enable us to train more volunteers in befriending, first aid, and psychological first aid to provide better care to our elderly beneficiaries, ensuring their mental, emotional and social well-being.
Let us be the beacon of light and hope for our elders in need.
