About Campaign

Growing up, Santhy D/O Sankaran had no recollection about her biological parents and faced health issues that forced her to drop out of school. While she eventually went on to live with her foster family, she didn't manage to build strong bonds with her siblings.

As an adult, things were no better. Santhy and her husband divorced while she was pregnant. Estranged from her foster family after marriage, she was left to raise her daughter on her own. Due to her medical conditions, she is reliant on her Personal Mobility Device to move around and is permanently unfit for work. Even with the support that covers utilities, rental, healthcare and her daughter's school fees, she struggles with putting food on the table.

Fortunately, a social worker connected Santhy with the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) in early 2022. Since enrolling in SRC's Family LifeAid programme, she has been receiving supermarket vouchers that alleviate her family's financial burdens while enhancing the family's social and emotional resilience.

"With the vouchers, I can purchase necessities such as food, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. This has helped my family a lot as we don't have to struggle to get these things anymore," says Santhi

With your support, we can continue supporting families like Santhy's.

For example, a gift of $125 can feed a family of 4 for 2 weeks. Your gift will bring hope by ensuring that nutritious food is put on their table, enabling them to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
