About Campaign

Deepavali celebrates the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. As the festival of light approaches, let us bring some festive cheer to those in need.

Vignesswaran s/o Anbalagan, affectionately known as Vicky, has multiple disabilities that robbed his freedom of movement. As such, day-to-day activities like showering or eating independently, which many take for granted, can be challenging for Vicky.

Vicky's main caregiver, his mother, is 71. She feels relieved that Vicky is well taken care of at the Red Cross Day Activity Centre for the Disabled, where he spends his weekdays - attending therapy to strengthen his upper limbs and group activities like meal preparation, leisure activities and wheelchair strolling.

Since then, Vicky has become more cheerful and expressive. At our therapists' constant encouragement, he can now hold simple conversations, which brings great joy to his mother. These days, he shares how he enjoys each day's activities once he gets home and also hopes to learn basic computer knowledge.

These positive developments are heartwarming and testament to the impact of our work on our beneficiaries, their caregivers and their families. We count on your donations to uplift more lives and to continue our humanitarian operations.

Your support is vital. You can bring light in the darkest days. Your gift brings hope to vulnerable persons, families and communities in Singapore.
