About Us

The Singapore International Film Festival Ltd (SGIFF) is the largest and longest-running film event in Singapore. Founded in 1987, SGIFF focuses on presenting a cohesive programme of cutting edge international and Asian films annually.

Always at the forefront of independent filmmaking, SGIFF continues to be a platform for both established and aspiring filmmakers to showcase their films to an audience of local and international film buffs. It is also a discovery platform for bright young auteur filmmakers with its competition section and film lab programme.

Over the decades, SGIFF has grown to become an iconic event in the Singapore arts calendar.

Our Programmes

The Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) is known for its dynamic programming and commitment to the development of a vibrant local film culture. In line with this, SGIFF runs year-round educational programmes and initiatives to nurture and develop the next generation of filmmakers and youths.

They include:
- Southeast Asian Film Lab that brings together emerging filmmakers from Southeast Asia to be mentored and taught by award-winning filmmakers
- Youth Jury & Critics Programme that develops young critical writers on film in Singapore
- Masterclasses, Talks and Post-Screening Dialogues where directors-in-attendance and guest filmmakers share their experiences about filmmaking and provide audiences with insights about the films they have just watched
- Film Immersion Programme that brings Southeast Asian films into schools through screenings and dynamic discussions with students
- New Waves screening-dialogue series that highlights young filmmakers and curates conversations about their unique use of film to communicate
