About Campaign

PROJECT AWESOME: Dare to Dream aims to inspire young Singaporeans, especially girls, to dream big, aim high, and live their lives at their fullest potential.

We will do this by bringing to our schoolchildren the amazing stories of the Awesome Women of Singapore - the pioneering women who broke through the boundaries and shattered glass ceilings.

These women helped to shape Singapore. Their stories deserve to be told. Their stories will inspire young Singaporeans to challenge whatever limits they may face, to dare to dream, and to make these dreams come true.

Project Awesome is built around 'Awesome Women of Singapore', a children's book that will be launched in March 2021 at the next Singapore Women's Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The stories in the book are the stories of the 160 women in the Hall of Fame.

With your support for Project Awesome, we will be able to:
- Donate 5 copies of 'Awesome Women of Singapore' to every school and children's home
- Organise exhibitions, talks and other events where schoolchildren can learn more about and interact with the amazing women and other role models
- Produce lesson plans and interactive tools to help teachers use the stories to instil in students important core values and personal skills.

About the Charity

The National Co-ordinating Body of Women's Organisations in Singapore - The Singapore Council of Women's Organisations (SCWO) was established in 1980 as the National Coordinating body of women's organisations in Singapore. SCWO has more than 50 member organisations, which represent over 500,000 women, and it serves to unite them to work toward ideals of 'Equal Space, Equal Voice and Equal Worth' for women in Singapore.

SCWO is represented on various government and inter-ministry committees, as well as regional and international bodies where it contributes views in the areas of family, women, and gender equality.

We were appointed Organisation in Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 2014 and the Organisation in Consultative Relationship with the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) in 2016.
