The SNOW (Say No to the Oppression of Women) Gala is held annually in support of Singapore Committee for UN Women's work to empower women and girls in Singapore and the region.

This year, part of the proceeds will go towards building safe spaces for women and girls in refugee camps across Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.

In October 2016, violent conflict broke out in Rakhine State, Myanmar. A military offensive drove an estimated 680,000 refugees across the border into Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. Over 80% of the refugees are women and children.

Every woman and girl in Cox's Bazar is either a survivor, or has personally witnessed multiple incidences of sexual assault, rape, or murder of family members or neighbours.

These women and girls have no safe havens and urgently need your help.

Your support will help to establish 16 Multi-purpose Women's Centres (MPWCs) by March 2019 as safe spaces for women, reduce health and physical risks, support livelihood training and income-generating opportunities and strengthen gender-responsiveness of humanitarian action.
