SNOW Gala 2017
About Campaignends 23 Sep 2017, 11:59 PM
Inaugurated in 2005, our annual gala dinner, SNOW (Say No to the Oppression of Women), is Singapore Committee for UN Womens' highly anticipated flagship fundraising event, in support of women and girls' empowerment in Singapore and in the region.
Each annual SNOW event sees Singapore's deeply engaged, passionate and socially-conscious executives, entrepreneurs and philanthropists come together for an evening of glamour, gastronomy and goodwill.
This year, our theme celebrates the ICONS of our time and many before us, who have paved the way towards a more fair and just society, for both women and men.
To be Iconic, is the desire to be free, to reach new limits, to stand out and grow beyond the boxes we are confined in. The success of the feminist movement across frontiers is not dependent on the will and strength of an isolated individual; rather it can only live from the collaborative efforts of a united society. With your support, we invite you to help us fight adversity and prejudice and be part of a global movement where everybody has an imperative part to play in achieving gender equality.

Singapore Committee for UN Women is a self-funded, non-governmental organisation that supports the mission of UN Women of ending violence against women through local awareness campaigns and fundraising initiatives. Both locally and regionally, we support efforts that provide women and girls with leadership development, economic independence, and lives free of violence and abuse.Right now, one in 10 women in Singapore report experiencing physical or sexual violence. Violence against women is symptomatic of the barriers to gender equality that women face at home, the workplace, and in their communities. Through our flagship campaign Help Anna our local initiatives raise awareness, change mind sets, inspire ambitions, and propose solutions to the obstacles holding women back from reaching their full potential. Help Anna promotes actions to eliminate forms of violence consistent with traditional understandings of violence against women.
