Here's a story to help you understand what encourages us to support them.
Mdm Kumari*, Mr Siva* and their two children aged 8 and 9 years old were impacted by financial concerns which shook the family's stability. Mdm Kumari, a foreigner who mostly lived outside Singapore had limited knowledge of the support available.
She then approached Yishun Family Service @ Children's Society for assistance. We journeyed with the family in linking them with emergency resources such as our Casework Fund to meet their immediate needs like transportation costs. The Straits' Times School Pocket Money Fund was also used to ensure that the children can afford meals and school supplies. Additionally, we assisted with their applications for Student Care Subsidies so that the children could be cared for while Mdm Kumari goes to work.
These efforts coupled with counselling support, financial assistance, and donated items helped tide the family through this difficult period.
Your support can impact a child's life and help us to continue to care for our beneficiaries.
