About Campaign

ends 30 Nov 2020, 11:59 PM
2020 has been a year of adversities due to COVID-19. Many have suffered from job insecurities, just like Mr Thomas* who is a sole breadwinner working in the tourism industry. Drawing a basic pay of $1,800 per month, he lost regular tipping from hotel guests and was asked to take two weeks of unpaid leave. Bills continue to accumulate as his wife had recently undergone a kidney operation. They have two young children and one grandchild to care for.

After reaching out to Yishun Family Service @ Children's Society, funds were disbursed from our Casework Fund to provide immediate emergency relief. We also provided them with regular food rations and referred their children to receive aid via The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund to ensure that they did not go hungry in school.

The donations we have raised have been a great support to our beneficiaries. However, more needs to be done as the knock-on effects of COVID-19 remain to be seen.

With the cancellation of all our physical fundraising events, Walk for Our Children has been converted to our first-ever virtual event, bringing you fun times with your loved ones and friends in a virtual environment!

Support us by participating in the event by signing up here: www.walkforourchildren.sg

All proceeds from this campaign will support programmes we run to help children, youth and families in need.

*Name has been changed to protect our beneficiary's identity.
