About Campaign

We are grateful to filmmaker Kelvin Tong for creating the short film 'The Listener', part of NVPC and Blue3Asia's 15 Shorts film anthology. 'The Listener' is inspired by the contributions of our Tinkle Friend volunteer, Madam Sarasa.

In the film, the volunteer Geetha tirelessly answers one phone call after another, providing support to lonely or distressed children. She perseveres despite the challenges that she encounters while manning the helpline and the other roles in her personal life that she is juggling with, especially being a mother.

Tinkle Friend is a national toll-free helpline and chatline for all primary school children in Singapore, and a service provided by Singapore Children's Society. It provides support, advice, and information to lonely and distressed children, especially in situations when their parents or caregivers are unavailable.

Manned by trained volunteers and staff members, Tinkle Friend guides children through problem-solving in a non-directive and caring approach. The Tinkle Friend website also provides resources for children such as the quarterly BUZZ magazines. To enhance children's mental well-being, Tinkle Friend also provides assembly talks free of charge to primary schools.

As Tinkle Friend is fully funded by Singapore Children's Society, your donations will support the daily operating costs of running Tinkle Friend. Please support us today! Together, let's build a City of Good!
