About the Charity
Established in 1964, Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) is a self-funded voluntary welfare organisation which provides patient care services to needy cancer patients through its welfare, hospice home care, cancer treatment subsidy and rehabilitation support programmes. In addition, the Society also provides free cancer screening services and promotes cancer awareness and prevention through its public education and community outreach programmes.
For the past 56 years, SCS has extended support to over a hundred thousand beneficiaries through various services and programmes. The impactful programmes continue to contribute in SCS' four key strategic thrusts:
- To reduce the incidence of cancer
- To increase survival rates
- To improve the quality of life of cancer patients and survivors
- To rally the community to take proactive action and join the fight against cancer
