About Campaign

ends 31 Dec 2022, 11:59 PM
The Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) Festive Cheer with a Heart programme aims to allow volunteers to befriend and start conversations with beneficiaries in the cancer community. Volunteers will be involved in the planning of the project as well as the packing and delivery of daily food necessities to the beneficiaries' homes island-wide during four festive months of the year.

Cancer patients from lower-income families face many financial and psychological challenges during the festive period. Every year, over 600 festive cheer bags are lovingly packed and distributed to our beneficiaries during the festive periods.

Your kind donation will help to make a difference in the lives of the cancer patients and most importantly, bring them warmth and happiness during the festive period. In these trying times, let's come together to show them that the community cares for them; and that they have not been forgotten or left behind.

Excess funds raised from this campaign will go into General Funds for SCS programmes and services, which include cancer treatment subsidies, welfare assistance, cancer rehabilitation, hospice care, free cancer screenings, research, and public education initiatives.

If you or your company would like to take part in this programme to pack and distribute the festive bag, please email [email protected]

About the Charity

Established in 1964, Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) is a self-funded voluntary welfare organisation which provides patient care services to needy cancer patients through its welfare, hospice home care, cancer treatment subsidy and rehabilitation support programmes. In addition, the Society also provides free cancer screening services and promotes cancer awareness and prevention through its public education and community outreach programmes.

For the past 57 years, SCS has extended support to over a hundred thousand beneficiaries through various services and programmes. The impactful programmes continue to contribute in SCS' four key strategic thrusts:

- To reduce the incidence of cancer
- To increase survival rates
- To improve the quality of life of cancer patients and survivors
- To rally the community to take proactive action and join the fight against cancer
