$50 covers the transportation cost for bringing a persons with visually handicapped to the Day Care Centre
$100 covers the consultation a persons with visually handicapped at the Low Vision clinic
$200 helps our clients acquire essential devices to aid them to be integrated into mainstream society
$500 equips the clients with techniques or skills to maintain an independent lifestyle

SAVH also fundraise for the Information and Referral which offer information and advice to visually handicapped persons and their family members on the appropriate resources available in the community, such as special schools for early intervention and job placement services; and to provide referral where necessary. These programmes are Financial Assistance and Home Ration Programme, Home Improvement Scheme, Financial help for minor home renovation and purchase of basic household equipment, Elderly Activity Group, Developmental Vision Programme.
Lastly, we fundraise for our Rehabilitation Services. The programmes are Orientation & Mobility Training, Activities of Daily Living Skills Training, Environmental/Home Modification, Sighted Guide Techniques, Caregiver Training and Day Care Center.
We need $50,000 more to our target! Help us to help the visually impairment to help themselves.
About the Charity
The Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), formerly known as the Singapore Association for the Blind (SAB), is the national voluntary welfare organization that serves and provides comprehensive rehabilitation services to the visually impaired. SAVH serves Singapore citizens and permanent residents of all age groups who must be certified with low vision (partial sight) or blind by an eye specialist or ophthalmologist. This includes people who are born blind as well as those who have lost their vision through accidents, illnesses or ageing. SAVH has over 4,000 registered clients ranging from infants to the elderly and has been providing these clients with eye care, rehabilitation, training, counselling, jobs and a place to belong to.
