Being an intangible culture tradition, Chinese Dance form part of our Chinese heritage, this heritage requires active effort on our part in order to safeguard it.

Chinese Dance contributes to the diversity of the arts and heritage that Singaporeans are proud of.

About the Charity

Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre (SCDT) is a professional Chinese dance company born-and-bred in Singapore. First established as an amateur troupe in 1989, the company has grown into an esteemed name today.

SCDT has been constantly pushing boundaries and seeking breakthroughs in its works. SCDT has also tours annually to showcase its works and sought opportunities for exchange and networking with international counterparts.

In recognition of its enduring efforts to the local and international arts scene, SCDT is supported by the National Arts Council under the Seed Grant scheme from 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2016, as well as the Major Company Scheme for the period from 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2022.
